How Frequently Should I Wash My Mask?
The rule of thumb should be more often than less to reduce the risk of infection..
The CDC says masks "should be routinely washed depending on the frequency of use." but of course that leaves the door open for interpretation.
Experts say masks should be washed daily, so that is definitely the safest option, especially if you have been on the train/bus where the risk of infection is greater.
If that's not realistic, we recommend having several masks so you always have a clean one during washes. Also keeping your mask in a clean plastic bag after use can help keep your mask clean for longer.
